2021.10.26 16:00 Skeeter1020 Blueprint for motion lights including brightness and sun/lux conditions?
I'm sure there's a blueprint out there for this, but I cannot seem to find it in the mass of lighting blueprints.
What I'm looking for is to mirror the Hue motion sensor settings for lights. So:

2021.10.26 16:00 Better_Historian_93 Paid for a phone I never got
Hi I'm stuck in a hairy situation and was wondering if anyone else has been down this road. I bought a phone from Samsung through paybright. The phone was supposed to be delivered on August 25th I was home the whole day and when I checked the tracking said it was delivered. I checked outside and nothing so I opened a claim with Fedex and spoke to their costumer service that day and they said they would get back to me. Two days later I opened a claim with Samsung and a couple days later a man from FedEx calls me and tells me their looking into and the man in charge of my claim at Samsung said they can't do anything without FedEx finishing their investigations. Weeks go by and after a lucky break with a customer service rep at FedEx, I get a call from FedEX on September 23rd saying they did a check of the warehouse and truck and nothing was found. They also spoke to the carrier and he says he never delivered a phone that day. The very next day I email Samsung and tell them that I have a voicemail from FedEx saying that the phone was not delivered that day. On October 5th shopescalations (Samsung) gets back to me and they tell me that my claim is being denied because FedEx has deemed it a good delivery and under signature (which I couldn't see when I logged into my tracking.) The driver wrote C19 which basically means the driver didn't need a signature and it was delivered Covid protocol. I explained to Samsung that there's a miscommunication happening and that I find it frustrating that after two months all thats happened was time was wasted. I'm really upset with both companies FedEx because clearly there something else going on with them contradicting themselves. Samsung because they didn't even bother to reach out to me and hear the voicemail, for them that purple slip that doesn't even have my signature is good enough. I didn't expect me giving them slack that they would use it to hang me (forgive the gruesome image just extremely frustrated.) The Samsung phone I was going to get was the S20 Fe and I was super hyped and excited for this phone. But after all this I fell like I should have just went for SONY (which says something because it's really tough to get a SONY phone in Canada but then again apparently so is my S20 FE.

2021.10.26 16:00 Daddy--__-- I think having sex with deaf chicks is hot
I like noises they make while I'm inside them like they're a god damn animal. But even better than that is the fact that I can say whatever the fuck I want while I'm fucking a deaf bitch doggy style. I can call her a slutty piece of shit, grabbing her hair. I can call her a whore. I can talk about the other women I've fucked while I push her face down into the pillow and tune her up. It's the fucking best.

2021.10.26 16:00 skeptical_gecko Automating molecular validation assay data
I am currently working in an R&D group at a clinical molecular lab. My primary roll is developing and validating assays to be used in the production side of things. Our process consists of running the same set of assays for each validation. They are linearity, precision, accuracy, cross-reactivity, interference, etc. Each assay is analyzed in essentially the same way, whether it's Covid-19 or a whole UTI pathogen panel. The number of targets is one of the only variable pieces.
The data analysis is mostly organization and simple statistics. Since we are plating samples onto 384-well plates for PCR, I would like to make a visual representation of the plate wherein certain wells can be highlighted and set for analysis given the desired assay. Ideally, once the data is generated, given the preset assay parameters outlined in my tool, the data will be sorted and analyzed accordingly.
I was going to try making this automated tool using Visual Basic, which I believe is how most Excel macros are made. However, most of my programming experience is with SAS and MATLAB. Would anyone be willing to share their thoughts on this approach? Is VB the right direction or is there a more efficient/better-suited language that I should start doing research on?
I am trying to incorporate an easy-to-use UI along with the automated data analysis. Allowing scientist to simply highlight cells/wells and assign an assay type seems the most straightforward way to approach this, as enforcing naming conventions in a lab is a nightmare.
Any tips or ideas would be appreciated.

2021.10.26 16:00 Dave-StarkExceptNice [Q] Question about building a multiple variable regression model
Let's say you were looking at crop yield. You have a bunch of variables that affect it, but let's say we focus on two separate and dependent variables, call them fertilizer and selection of workers. Unbeknownst to us, one group of workers knows how to properly fertilize plants so that the fertilizer is always properly absorbed and has its full effect. Another group is unskilled at using fertilizer, so even when they use it, it's not properly absorbed and not functioning properly. We are studying different fertilizer types and using that as one of our variables, but in this case, we're saying that one variable affects another.
How do we capture this event in regression analysis, and what tools do we have to prove that this is happening, if any?

2021.10.26 16:00 Phantom471 Professor asked for criticism, but I feel like it's a trick
So this professor I have for Developmental psychology asked the class, in a group email, to let her know if we have problems with the class and if she could do anything to help us. For reference, it's an online class.
This is a trick. I know it's a trick. If I request more discussion board questions, she's just going to reply with some snarky response that's just going to hurt my grade even more in the long run. She's been very petty with how she grades our discussion board responses so far.
I like discussion board questions because the interaction with the class helps me to compartmentalize the information better. The critical thinking component helps me quite a bit. Especially when we're supposed to make an argument and draw on material from the lecture. But her discussion boards to-date have been only surface level questions: IE Name three teratogens. Do you think pregnant women should be allowed to purchase alcohol?
But this is a trick. She's asked if we have problems with how the class is formatted, but she's not really asking. She just wants affirmation that the class is going well. She's already made it obvious that only certain opinions are allowed.
As I write this out, I've talked myself out of it. I'm definitely not going to respond to this email, unless the responses are anonymous.

2021.10.26 16:00 FullFlan5710 Rocket League crashing upon start up?
So basically Rocket League will crash as soon as I launch the game on Steam. It pulls up a black screen and then immediately closes. No error message or nothing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice, verified local files, run as administrator, checked compatibility, etc. Nothing has worked. I really don't want to format my SSD just to get this game working again. Any help is appreciated, cheers.

2021.10.26 16:00 leifkolt So much crying
I mean seriously.
Enjoy the game, or don't play. Want a mount? Go outside and ride a bike. Tired of fast travel costs? Practice some patience and take a walk. It feels like half of you would be better served doing stuff IRL. I think the other half of us are having a pretty fun time.
Yes, the game has issues, but don't forget, it's a game. If they bother you, stop playing and come back later. It's only been out for a short time. Life's too short to cry over video games like an entitled baby. If you're pointing out bugs, or suggesting improvements, all good, but I'm seeing too many posts that give me the impression you need some time away from games, and maybe the internet in general.
