2021.11.27 23:10 Forever_Observer2020 I feel human beings are more compassionate...
...than a supposed god that could only do compassion through "scriptures." I find it insulting and dismissive of all human beings who have done compassionate things, more so than simply "speaking" as Jehovah does.
Generally, when I read more about this week's article as a PIMO, I just have this deep disappointment and frustration with all this discussion in favour of a spiritual family with a father that isn't warm and welcoming but abusive and critical and inhuman.

2021.11.27 23:10 johnreileyy Should I talk about it or let it go?
22M Started seeing this girl a couple years younger than me after hooking up at the club. She seems pretty into me and we've seen each other 4 times since and enjoy each others company.
I went out on wednesday and she ended up texting me that she was out as well. We met up at the club and hooked up, we had plans to see each other the day after. She was super giddy when I got there and ran up to me to hug me. Since we're there together I tell her we should go home but she says she has class in the morning and says she will see me tomorrow.
Apparently just today my friend says another friend saw her make out with another guy that night after i left but not sure if he knows it was actually her.
Now, I don't expect her to be completely exclusive to me at this point but at the same time it annoyed me because I was literally just there hooking up with her. We saw each other the next day and she even texted me first about it, and it was really good so I don't understand why she would do that.
Should I try to advance the relationship or talk about it? Or just continue seeing her with more of a not giving a f attitude and see what happens? We have plans to see each other again but this annoyed me given how we've been when we're together.

2021.11.27 23:10 Key_Lime_Pie_3838 Help on typing myself
• How old are you? What's your gender? Give us a general description of yourself.
I'm an 18-year-old female. My enneagram is either 2 or 6. I'm planning to major in computer science in college, though I must say I'm not so good at thinking through complex problems involving coding (I tend to mess up on the details of a program).
• Is there a medical diagnosis that may impact your mental stability somehow?
• Describe your upbringing. Did it have any kind of religious or structured influence? How did you respond to it?
I've encountered a few major changes in my childhood. Like, we moved to a new country, and I couldn't speak the new language and stuff. Due to how different I felt from my classmates, I tried to fit in as much as possible, but at the same time, I also craved attention. I would just go along with what others wanted and tried to be the helpful person to get on my teacher and classmates' good side.
I was okay with changes as long as I don't feel alienated. I feel like I actually presented myself differently in front of my parents and in front of my peers. For example, I would say to my parents that I believe in the values they uphold, and the next day I'll tell my friends that I think their values (contrary to the values of my parents) make sense. Just whatever keeps them happy around me.
• What do you do as a job or as a career (if you have one)? Do you like it? Why or why not?
Eh...student? I think, yeah. I mean, I really like it when I have a purpose in life, and I gain that through learning different things. Like, if I'm going to learn computer science, I want a solid reason behind my studies. I don't just want to do it because it promises good money or something, it has to have a greater purpose like benefitting a certain group or preparing for future generations' studies.
• If you had to spend an entire weekend by yourself, how would you feel? Would you feel lonely or refreshed?
I would probably feel more refreshed. Usually, I am open to anyone who wants to connect with me at school, so I get pretty exhausted after a whole week. I'd love to have some alone time. But I'll leave my phone on just in case anyone needs me. If someone comes to me with a problem, though, I tend to shift toward helping them find a way to think through the problem themselves rather than just helping them do it. I'm also pretty bad at hands-on stuff, so it's probably better when people solve hands-on problems themselves.
• What kinds of activities do you prefer? Do you like, and are you good at sports? Do you enjoy any other outdoor or indoor activities?
I'm alright with any activity as long as others are also enjoying it, but I do prefer activities in which we work together for a greater cause. I want everyone to work together to create something grand, and we can all just proudly say that we were part of it. I like the sense of being able to depend on each other to create something big, to share a single vision of the future, etc.
As far as sports goes, no. Just no. I'm just not a person who is very aware of their surroundings, nor do I really care that much to notice my surroundings. I'm usually thinking about something, though when I consciously look into that phase, it's more like blanking out. I believe it must be unconscious processing of information. I cannot count how many times I've wanted to catch a ball in PE and it just flew right past me.
• How curious are you? Do you have more ideas then you can execute? What are your curiosities about? What are your ideas about - is it environmental or conceptual, and can you please elaborate?
I consider myself a curious person, but I'm not the type to spike an interest in everything I see. I tend to take a long time to delve into subjects that interest me. My curiosities are mostly about patterns I've observed in my interactions with others. I can tell quite easily when someone is lying, so after I detect that, I find their efforts in making others believe in their lies pretty funny. I'm often surprised at how some people cannot detect an obvious lie, and that gets me thinking. Say that a majority of people accept a lie as truth, will that make a lie become a true statement? Pretty much a single change in opinions can change which direction the world takes.
• Would you enjoy taking on a leadership position? Do you think you would be good at it? What would your leadership style be?
Most of the time, I just assume a leadership role. I have no problems if someone else wants to take the lead, but if no one says anything, I'll start asking about their opinions and accidentally take on the leadership role. I want everyone to feel involved, and I even demand it. I hate it when people play on their phones and just not do anything. Like, if they're going to play on their phones, then that's fine. I can take care of their work. But why not show some appreciation for what others are doing to save your butt?
• Are you coordinated? Why do you feel as if you are or are not? Do you enjoy working with your hands in some form? Describe your activity?
Like I said earlier, I cannot catch a ball to save my life. Honestly, sometimes I just blank out and stop noticing what is going on around me, and that is the only time I can even catch a ball. I just reflexively reach out and snatch that random shadow at the corner of my eye. After I come back to the moment, nope, whichever ball thrown at me is just flying away.
• Are you artistic? If yes, describe your art? If you are not particular artistic but can appreciate art please likewise describe what forums of art you enjoy. Please explain your answer.
I mostly just enjoy music and anime. I have some pretty strict standards for my favorite anime, though. I don't really get action anime and the likes, but I also don't like slice of life ones when they're too boring. I like the heartwarming stories that are larger than life. I like to feel a sense of fulfillment after I finish watching, which makes what I want to watch pretty hard to find since many have too much excitement for my enjoyment while the others keep droning on and on about mundane everyday life stuff.
As for music, I enjoy the kind of songs with a melody that seems pretty bland if you look at it separately but actually sounds quite powerful once you put the melody, harmony, and instrumentals together. I don't know names of genres, sorry.
• What's your opinion about the past, present, and future? How do you deal with them?
I believe the past provides valuable precautions for me to take as to not make some terrible mistakes, but really, I feel like people talk too much about either the so-called "good times past" or "terrible times past." Seriously, life is about making changes so the future can be better, so please focus on what you can do right now to create achieve a better future. I also have a hard time recalling events in my memory. I could have went through something 2 weeks ago and forget about it if it doesn't give an imprinting experience to me. I was decorating the Christmas tree with my siblings earlier, and my brother was, like, "Hey, that box is what we used to pack up the ornaments last year." Really, how do people remember those kind of things? That is just amazing talent.
There are random moments during which I suddenly recall something I usually struggle to recall. Like, someone could have mentioned something, and suddenly my brain is, like, "Hey, remember that time when blah blah blah happened?"
I believe the future is always better. There might be significant challenges along the way, but in the end, we will end up somewhere better as long as we put our minds to it and work together. Even if my life sucks for the next few decades, at least I'm doing something to help future generations live a not-so-sucky life. Sorry, is this making any sense at all?
• How do you act when others request your help to do something (anything)? If you would decide to help them, why would you do so?
If it's their own problems, I'll walk them through how to find a solution and not just help them do it. I mean, why not help them? We're both happy after their problem is resolved. Most of the time, when people come to me to vent about what's going on in their lives, I can tell that they only want emotional support and someone to listen to their problems anyway. They most likely already have what they want to do in mind. I'm just glad that I am able to make them feel better in some way.
• Do you need logical consistency in your life?
I mean, I like it when things make sense in my brain, but there are things in life that just don't follow logic anyway. Honestly, sometimes I feel kind of hurt when people just insist on being logical and correct when others feel uncomfortable by continuing to talk about the same thing. We can say that something makes sense to us, but maybe, you know, we could just keep it to ourselves when an argument is going to break out.
• How important is efficiency and productivity to you?
There are more important things. It's better to have a good sense of the purpose of what you're doing than just blindly doing what you have to and submit something by the deadline. However, if being slow is going to hurt in the long run, then I motivate myself by thinking about how my work fits into my motivation and pushes myself to get it done.
• Do you control others, even if indirectly? How and why do you do that?
I'm not even aware of it, but yes, I come off as really controlling. I want the people I care about to depend on me for their problems because I want to share a deep bond with them. Sometimes I get offended when I'm right in front of them and they ask another for help. Then I feel guilty because they are in no way required to ask for my help, and I'm just being selfish and possessive. If I've really lost my mind, then I'll just mope around, guilt-tripping them.
• What are your hobbies? Why do you like them?
I like to read. Nowadays, I'm just mostly reading books to understand people better. It's fun to see the things impacting our actions in life. I liked romance novels in my childhood. They seemed pretty, er, romantic. I just liked the idea of having somebody with whom I can share a deep and intimate bond, I guess. I really like books about working together for a shared vision that might not even come true for a long time. I respect that spirit a lot.
• What is your learning style? What kind of learning environments do you struggle with most? Why do you like/struggle with these learning styles? Do you prefer classes involving memorization, logic, creativity, or your physical senses?
I struggle the most with classes involving physical efforts, and secondly memorization. I'm really bad at hands-on stuff, and I also struggle a bit with logic since I am a bit single-minded when it comes to finding a solution. I'll just spiral down the path of one way of doing things and refuse to consider alternatives until the way I'm doing it just doesn't make sense to me anymore. I actually enjoy writing quite a bit if I am allowed to write about subjects which interest me. I'm alright with creative writing, but writing narratives gets boring when I can't talk about more interesting concepts.
• How good are you at strategizing? Do you easily break up projects into manageable tasks? Or do you have a tendency to wing projects and improvise as you go?
I usually just make a general plan without too many specifics, but I don't like to wing projects. I might have new ideas, but the ones I use are the ones that align with what I wanted the whole thing to look like at the start of the project when I made my plans.
• What are your fears? What makes you uncomfortable? What do you hate? Why?
I'm kind of scared of rejection. I also don't like it when someone doubts my sole purpose in life. Like, if someone just tells me that my dream is never going to happen, I get defensive and aggressive. I also don't really like conflict and criticism.
• What do the "highs" in your life look like?
I am more self-aware and can speak up for myself and others. I enjoy life as it is instead of ignoring what is happening around me. I am also more aware of my surroundings.
• What do the "lows" in your life look like?
Well, definitely more victim-minded. I seek others for reassurance that I am not at fault. I'm also prone to just do things without considering how it might affect others, most of the time without even thinking through my actions. There are also some cases of codependency I've noticed when I am in extreme stress.
• How attached are you to reality? Do you daydream often, or do you pay attention to what's around you? If you do daydream, are you aware of your surroundings while you do so?
I wouldn't call it daydreaming, but my mind is usually occupied. I hardly ever notice what is going on around me. I don't recall what I am thinking about, though. Sometimes I picture myself doing something that I want to do and think that I've actually done that thing before I realize that it is only my mind.
• Imagine you are alone in a blank, empty room. There is nothing for you to do and no one to talk to. What do you think about?
Step 1: LET ME OUT! AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH
Step 2: Let's think this through. What will I need to get out? Theoretically, this should work, so let's do it.
• How long do you take to make an important decision? And do you change your mind once you've made it?
I'll take a few moments to reflect upon how that decision will impact my life in something-something years, and then I might ask others' opinions if I think the decision will significantly impact their lives. Generally, it's pretty fast, and I can make minor changes, but the direction of my life is the same unless my life purpose of what I'm doing suddenly changes.
• How long do you take to process your emotions? How important are emotions in your life?
Not super long, I tend to absorb the emotions of those around me and feel what I expect them to expect that I feel. They're just...things, I suppose. I'm a sensitive person, so sometimes I get a little sentimental, but it's not really deep.
• Do you ever catch yourself agreeing with others just to appease them and keep the conversation going? How often? Why?
Mostly just with my friends. I have a few friends who come to me frequently to chat, but they're some pretty reserved person. I'll try to get them to talk about what interests them, and even if I don't agree with some of their viewpoints, I still give them credit for making sense. If I get interested as well, I might give some inputs of my perspective, but I don't like to upset them. They're my friends. Their happiness is way more important, though I really don't know what to say if they want my opinion on cloth or makeup. Like, really, why do people care so much about such trivial things? As long as they like what they have, and if it's not upsetting to the eye or to the nose (*cough* perfume *cough*), then who cares? It's not going to affect my wellbeing.
• Do you break rules often? Do you think authority should be challenged, or that they know better? If you do break rules, why?
I think common sense should be followed. I personally don't care much about what I'm allowed or not allowed to do, but if what you're doing is making others uncomfortable, then try to withhold a little at the very least. It really depends on who I'm with. I'll just go along with what they're saying. On the inside, though, I sometimes feel like people don't see far enough into the long-term effects and just focus on immediate satisfaction. Like, it makes sense, but I feel like we should see into the far future rather than just wanting to be happy in the moment, which sometimes hurt our wellbeing in the future.
Thank you so much for reading this! I am so grateful for all your help.
